The platter is driven directly by a brushless motor with 16 poles and 12 coils. PWM vector control holds the speed within a tolerance of ± 0.3 %. Wow and flutter stays below 0.06 % JIS, and the rumble signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 70 dB.
Die-cast in aluminium, the platter measures 305 mm and has an inertia of 382 kg·cm². This rotating mass smooths out small irregularities in the motor. It turns on a miniature steel ball bearing at 33 1/3, 45 or 78 rpm.
The statically balanced S-shaped tonearm measures 244 mm, with 14 mm overhang and a 20.5° offset angle. Its height adjusts over 9 mm, tracking force from 0 to 2.5 g and anti-skating from 0 to 3 g. With the supplied sub-counterweight, it accepts cartridges from 4 to 26 g.
The DP-3000NE weighs 18.5 kg and measures 500 × 394 × 185 mm, in a Dark Ebony finish. The box contains the aluminium headshell, an overhang gauge, the dust cover and a 45 rpm adapter. The cartridge is left to the user's choice.
