Lab12 Melto2 tube phono preamplifier for MM and MC cartridges, handcrafted in Greece. Gain, impedance, capacitance and EQ curve are set from the remote control and shown on an OLED display.

The Melto2 amplifies the cartridge signal with tubes only: two E88CC and two 6N2P-EV dual triodes. Lundahl step-up transformers raise the signal of moving-coil cartridges. The circuit runs without feedback and is powered by a toroidal transformer.
Gain, impedance from 25 ohms to 47 kohms and capacitance from 0 to 300 pF are set in real time. The supplied remote control and the OLED display mean you stay seated while testing. The output can also switch to mono for older records.
Besides the RIAA curve, the Melto2 offers DECCA and Columbia curves for the pressings that use them. Gain reaches 38 dB in MM and 58 or 64 dB in MC. One minute of warm-up is enough before listening.
The rear panel takes three RCA phono inputs, each with its own ground terminal. The output is available on RCA and XLR. The 43 x 11 x 29 cm unit weighs 8 kg and draws 100 VA at most.
