Many amplifiers no longer have a phono input. The Pro-Ject Phono Box MM amplifies and RIAA-equalises the signal from MM and high-output MC cartridges, then connects to a line input of your amplifier, such as AUX. Its 40 dB gain, 47 kOhm / 120 pF input impedance and RIAA accuracy within 0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz suit most MM cartridges.
The dual-mono circuitry with low-noise ICs ensures good channel separation, with a noise floor of 88 dB A-weighted and distortion below 0.04 %. The metal case shields the electronics from vibration and electromagnetic interference, and the outboard 18 V DC power supply keeps interference low. Compact at 107 x 30 x 75 mm and 280 g, it sits close to the turntable and features gold-plated RCA sockets.
