The R610's cabinet and front panel are in Fused Walnut. The console measures 300 mm wide, 280 mm deep and 95 mm high, and weighs 4.3 kg. A 5-inch TFT colour screen with automatic dimming and the RotoDial take up the front panel.
The R610 plays Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect natively, as well as Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. The last two also handle multiroom. For radio, it receives Internet radio, DAB/DAB+ and FM with RDS. For connections it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port and Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD, and Bluetooth headphones are supported.
The Class D amplifier delivers a rated 2 × 75 W to two speakers, connected with the two 3 m oxygen-free copper cables supplied. A Burr-Brown 32-bit / 192 kHz converter handles the digital signal, and a Burr-Brown analogue-to-digital converter of the same format digitises the analogue inputs. Bass, treble and subwoofer can be adjusted from -6 dB to +6 dB, with switchable Loudness and Stereo+. Ruark presents the Sabre-R speakers, sold separately, as partners for the console.
The HDMI ARC and eARC input takes the sound from the television. An MM phono input with adjustable gain from 2 to 7 mV accepts a turntable, and the stereo RCA line input accepts up to 2.3 Vrms. The optical input plays PCM up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, and the mono RCA subwoofer output sits alongside the line or pre-out output. The USB-C port plays audio files and connects the optional R-CD100 CD player.
