Low-output MC cartridge with 8 ohm generator, nude Microline stylus, Delrin body with brass top plate, 9.5 grams.

The nude Microline diamond of the ML reproduces the profile of the cutting stylus that engraved the record. Its contact surface follows the fine modulations that an elliptical rounds off, across a frequency response of 12 Hz to 45 kHz. Channel separation holds at 30 dB at 1 kHz.
The ML coil is wound in very high purity copper around a low-impedance generator, the same one used in the Umami Blue. The resulting 8 ohms suits a wider range of phono stages, to be loaded from 100 ohms, for an output of 0.4 mV.
The moulded Delrin body damps resonances better than a solid alloy body. The machined brass top plate brings the cartridge to 9.5 grams and 16.3 mm in height, with threaded inserts for the headshell screws.
The front yoke and the centre and rear parts go through cold annealing. The Alnico-based magnetic circuit comes out with a more even flux, which keeps the response linear from one end of the spectrum to the other.
