The NS-600A pairs a 13 cm cone woofer with a 3 cm dome tweeter. Response runs from 47 Hz to 65 kHz at -10 dB, with a 2.6 kHz crossover. Nominal impedance is 6 ohms, with a 3.6 ohm minimum.
The cabinet measures 20.7 cm wide, 38.3 cm high and 32.9 cm deep, at 9.9 kg per speaker. Those dimensions suit a solid shelf or a low sideboard. Power handling runs from 40 W nominal to 120 W maximum.
The 85.5 dB sensitivity calls for an amplifier with power in reserve. On stands, the speaker puts its tweeter at ear height, which is what a stable stereo image depends on. Yamaha offers the SPS-600A for the job.
The lacquered cabinet comes with a removable front grille, one per speaker. Four damping cushions are supplied with it. With the grille off, the cone woofer and the bass-reflex port stay in view.
