Treble is handled by an Air Motion Transformer with a neodymium motor, set in a waveguide. Its pleated diaphragm covers about 85 cm². The crossover hands it everything above 2800 Hz, and the response reaches 32 kHz at -6 dB.
The 6-inch driver uses a PE-coated paper cone in a die-cast basket. Its double-magnet motor gives the low end a solid footing. Response goes down to 39 Hz at -6 dB, a low figure for a bookshelf speaker 37.6 cm tall.
The HDF cabinet is stiffened by an internal bracing matrix. Apart from the side panels, no wall runs parallel to another, which limits standing waves. A foam plug is included to close the bass reflex port. Each speaker measures about 215 x 376 x 317 mm and weighs 10.7 kg.
With a 4 Ω impedance and 88 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V, the speaker calls for 50 to 170 W of amplification. Sonoro's Maestro, rated at 2 x 170 W into 4 Ω, sits inside that range. Connection is made on screw terminals, and the fabric grille comes off to show the drivers.
