The Raptor 3 is a quality bookshelf speaker with a classic, carefully finished design. It sits on a shelf unit or a stand, in stereo or as a front or surround channel in a home cinema system. It matches the towers, the centre speaker and the subwoofers of the Raptor series technically and visually.
A 25 mm soft-dome tweeter takes over from a 6.5-inch mid-woofer at 2600 Hz. The response extends from 50 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB). The 88 dB sensitivity and 4 to 8 ohm impedance suit an amplifier of 25 to 125 W, for a maximum level of 108 dB.
The port is located at the back of the cabinet, which reinforces the bass without needing a large volume. The cabinet measures 195 x 320 x 262 mm and weighs 6.5 kg. The black fabric grille, acoustically transparent, attaches to pegs, and rubber feet are supplied. A single terminal block takes the speaker cable.
The Raptor 3 comes in black or white, with a visible wood-grain structure. A wood-effect vinyl covering wraps the sides, top and back, and the front receives a slight gloss. The white resists yellowing in a very sunny room.
