The Speaker Box 3 E Carbon comes in satin black, satin white and real walnut veneer. Its discreet style fits into any interior. The MDF cabinet is built to avoid resonance, and black magnetic grilles are included.
Pro-Ject quotes a flat frequency response from 83 Hz to 20 kHz with fine detail. The small diameter of the bass driver gives an excellent impulse response, which results in a precise and deep stereo image. The voicing stays open without ever turning harsh.
The 3 inch bass/mid driver uses a composite of fibre glass and carbon. It is paired with a 0.75 inch silk dome tweeter in a 2-way bass-reflex design. The rear-firing port helps the speaker reproduce bass with ease and control.
At 17.5 cm high, 11.9 cm wide, 15.2 cm deep and 1.69 kg, it works as a desktop monitor or as a home cinema speaker. It suits an amplifier of 10 to 100 W, with 4 ohms and 85 dB (1 W / 1 m), and Pro-Ject recommends at least 10 W per channel, such as a Stereo Box S3 BT or a MaiA S3. Its terminals are gold-plated and a wall bracket is available separately. It is sold individually, so a stereo pair needs two.
