The Platinum 100 3G is a compact two-way of 398 x 225 x 325.6 mm. It still weighs 15.2 kg each. Mounting points accept both the previous-generation Platinum 2G Stand and the new ST-2 Universal Stand.
The 6-inch mid-bass driver uses an RDT III cone. It hands over to the MPD III tweeter at 2.85 kHz. Response extends to 60 kHz at -6 dB.
The port is tuned to 44 Hz. Free-field, response reaches down to 37 Hz at -6 dB; in a room it gets to 28 Hz.
At 85 dB for 2.83 V at one metre, the speaker needs power. Monitor Audio recommends 75 to 300 W, and continuous handling reaches 150 W. The 4 ohm nominal impedance never drops below 4.0 ohms, the minimum measured at 180 Hz.
