The Silver 50 8G pairs a 6-inch C-CAM mid/bass driver with a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. The crossover hands over between them at 2.6 kHz. The mid/bass cone uses RST III geometry, the same as on the Silver 300 and 500 8G floorstanders.
Bass is loaded by a Silent Flow port tuned to 52 Hz. In-room response runs from 43 Hz to 35 kHz, measured at -6 dB. The Silent Flow profile aims for smoother airflow and lower distortion in the bass.
Through-bolts hold the drivers and stiffen the cabinet, which cuts its resonances. The speaker measures 335 x 185 x 332 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 8.2 kg. Three finishes are listed: High Gloss Black, Satin White and European Walnut.
Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, dipping to 3.8 ohms at 240 Hz. Sensitivity is 86.5 dB for 2.83 V at one metre. Monitor Audio recommends 25 to 100 W into 8 ohms, and peak level reaches 110 dB.
