The ES7N houses a 130 mm mica-filled polypropylene mid-bass driver and a 28 mm tweeter in a cabinet measuring 290 x 200 x 270 mm for 7.6 kg. The cabinet pairs two 8 mm MDF panels separated by a damping layer, and a single brace is enough to quieten its resonances. A wooden block in the upper section sharpens the stereo image.
A switch on the rear panel selects between two versions of the crossover. In the upper position you place the loudspeakers 30 to 50 cm from the wall, as they are here on stands. Sensitivity is then 86 dB, for an impedance of 4 ohms dropping to a minimum of 3 ohms at 15 kHz. The baffle is asymmetric: place the tweeter towards the inside.
In the lower position the same switch adapts the crossover to listening against a wall or inside a bookshelf, and sensitivity rises to 89 dB. The cabinet's dimensions let it sit on standard shelving without overhang. The port is bent and opens between the two side panels, with damped vents that control its output through the midrange.
The ES7N comes in semi-matt black, semi-matt white, walnut and semi-matt orange. Four inserts under the cabinet take 4 mm screws, and silicone rubber spikes are supplied to isolate the loudspeaker from its support. EPOS recommends a stand around 70 cm high.
