The Pro-Ject Align it PRO is set to the exact length of the tonearm and fixed to the centre of its pivot. Its fixing rod has two ends: a pointed one for any type of tonearm, and a flat one that fits the centre screw of higher-end Pro-Ject tonearms (X1, X2, CC and CC Evo).
The overhang distance is therefore set in no time, with great accuracy. There is no need to go back and forth between the inner and outer null points as with other protractors. This is why only the inner null point is printed on the tool.
The Align it PRO uses the Baerwald geometry, a versatile balance between outer and inner grooves with excellent linearity in the middle of the record. It suits the short sides of 20 minutes or less found on many recent releases. One tool covers overhang, azimuth and tangentiality.
The tool covers Pro-Ject 8.6, 9, 10 and 12 inch tonearms, i.e. 200, 212, 238 and 291.6 mm between pivot and spindle. It suits all Pro-Ject turntables and many tonearms from other brands. Made in Europe, it comes with detailed instructions.
