The H190v takes the H190, the best-selling amplifier in Hegel's history, one step further. Hegel nicknamed it "More Music". Its solid steel chassis has a thick aluminium front panel and aluminium knobs, in a black finish. It sits at the centre of the brand's integrated amplifier range.
The phono input takes a turntable fitted with an MM cartridge directly. Its circuit is a scaled-down version of Hegel's V10 phono preamplifier, with no external box or extra cable. On the front, the 6.3 mm headphone socket has its own amplifier, strong enough for headphones that are hard to drive.
The power stage delivers 2 x 150 W into 8 ohms in class AB and handles loads down to 2 ohms. A large toroidal transformer and high-quality output transistors control the speakers with a damping factor above 4000. The preamp and the DAC have their own improved power supply, for a silent background.
The H190v plays AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready and UPnP through its network input, and its DAC accepts up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It responds to common TV remotes, and most inputs can be set as a fixed-level home theatre input for use with an AV receiver. IP control links it to Control4, Crestron and Savant, and a variable output feeds a subwoofer.
