ARCAM Class G Amplification

Class G is a proprietary ARCAM amplification technology absent from competing consumer amplifiers. Its principle: multiple power rails switch according to signal level, offering twice the efficiency of Class AB while retaining its linearity and dynamic range. Under identical load, the AVA35 provides more usable power exactly when the signal demands it — on loud fortissimo passages or abrupt cinematic effects. Harmonic distortion remains at 0.01 % at 80 % load.

16-Channel Matrix Channel Assignment

Matrix Channel Assignment is exclusive to the AVA35 in the Radia AV range: it allows freely redistributing the 9 amplification channels across any of the 16 decoding channels, except subwoofer channels (4 and 11–16). A 5.1.4 setup with 4 height channels can thus utilize the 9 amplifiers for the most critical positions, adding an external amp for the remaining channels. A flexibility unmatched at this price point.

Hi-Fi DAC in an AV Amplifier

The AVA35's digital-to-analog conversion architecture is identical to ARCAM's stereo amplifiers — a rarity in the AV world where the DAC is often secondary. All digital inputs support up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. The 16 RCA preamp outputs deliver a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB with harmonic distortion at −100 dB — reference-level figures even in a pure hi-fi context.

Dirac Live ART, Auro-3D, IMAX

The AVA35 integrates Dirac Live Active Room Treatment, the most advanced level of the Dirac suite: instead of correcting each speaker individually, ART coordinates the entire system to optimize bass, time alignment, and overall clarity. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, and Auro-3D are all natively decoded. Zone 2 included on the third HDMI output for multi-room integration without additional equipment.
