The MRX 540 8K relies on 32-bit, 768 kHz digital-to-analogue converters. It decodes Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced, for a maximum configuration of 5.2.2. FLAC, ALAC, WAV and DSD files are played back in high resolution.

ARC Genesis room correction

ARC Genesis measures the room with a redesigned, more accurate calibration microphone and optimises the frequency response. Four profiles can be stored. The Anthem web interface lets you adjust the volume, change the audio mode and tweak channel levels from a phone, a tablet or a computer.

8K HDMI 2.1 platform

Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs accept 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz pass-through, with HDCP 2.3. Two HDMI outputs are available, one of them eARC. VRR, ALLM and QFT are supported for gaming, along with the HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG formats.

Amplification and connections

Five amplifiers deliver 100 W per channel into 8 Ω and 130 W into 6 Ω, with two channels driven at 1 % distortion. The speaker terminals cover FR, FL, C, SR and SL, with two independent subwoofer outputs. The rear panel takes five analogue inputs, two coaxial inputs, three optical inputs and one optical output. The aluminium chassis measures 43.2 × 36.4 × 15.2 cm (W × D × H) and weighs 12.8 kg.
