The Cinema 50 places the Marantz porthole at the centre of a symmetrical metal front panel, between two large knobs. The secondary controls are concealed in the front panel. The chassis measures 44.2 × 39.2 × 16.5 cm without antennas and weighs 13.5 kg.
Nine discrete class A/B amplifiers deliver 110 W per channel into 8 ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with two channels driven, and 150 W into 6 ohms. The HDAM modules and current feedback come from the brand's hi-fi components. Four independent subwoofer outputs and 11.4 pre-outs allow an external amplifier to be added.
All six HDMI inputs accept 8K, with upscaling from 1080p and 4K to 8K. Two main HDMI outputs and one zone output complete the rear panel. eARC, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, ALLM and VRR are supported. Decoding covers Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Auro-3D and 360 Reality Audio.
Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration measures the room with the supplied microphone, and Dirac Live is available as an option. The built-in HEOS platform gives access to TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music HD and Spotify Connect, together with AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. The unit comes in black and in silver gold.
