Dedicated Simply Phono power supply

This unit is the external power supply of the Simply Phono valve phono preamplifier, listed by the Swiss distributor as the Simply Phono Power Supply. Its cover bears the Unison Research logo, the Simply Phono lettering and the words Dedicated power supply unit. The power transformer sits inside it, away from the preamp's phono stage.

Lockable keyed plug

The preamp connects through a keyed plug, to be inserted the right way round and never forced. A rotating sleeve is then tightened to ensure a firm contact. Unison Research asks for the power supply to be unplugged from the mains before the Simply Phono is connected to it.

Two cases side by side

The preamp and its power supply sit side by side, and the Unison Research manual specifies their arrangement so that the transformer's magnetic field does not induce hum in the phono stage. The length of the connecting cable does not affect the result, provided its quality meets the brand's standard. Preamp and power supply weigh 3 kg together.
