Powering the Amp Box RS2

The Power Box RS2 Amp is the linear power supply dedicated to the Amp Box RS2 amplifier. It replaces the original switching power supply and clearly improves the sound. A connection cable to the Amp Box RS2 is included.

4.7 kg toroidal transformer

It is built around an audio-grade toroidal transformer with copper foil shielding. The filtration capacity reaches 40,000 μF and the output current 4 A. The unit weighs 4.7 kg and a soft-start system prevents inrush current.

Silver rear panel with power output

35 or 45 V output

A switch sets the output voltage to ± 35 V or ± 45 V. Pro-Ject recommends 35 V, especially with 4-ohm speakers or in closed furniture, to reduce consumption and heat. The 45 V position raises the power of the Amp Box RS2 by up to 25%, provided both units are well ventilated.

The mains input accepts 115 V or 230 V AC. The aluminium case measures 20.6 cm wide, 7.1 cm high and 20.9 cm deep, in a silver or black finish. The Power Box RS2 Amp is made in Europe.
