The 75 watt toroidal transformer is wound on a circular grain-oriented silicon steel core. A relay switches the secondary voltage. The filter capacitors are ELNA.
The bridge rectifier is a D15XB60-7000. Regulation pairs two N-MOS transistors in parallel with an LT431 voltage reference. Residual ripple stays below 30 microvolts RMS, A-weighted.
A selector chooses between 12 and 15 volts, for a current of 0 to 3 amps. A potentiometer trims the voltage by plus or minus 0.2 volts, and three LEDs display the value in use. Output is on a GX16-2 aviation socket.
The aluminium chassis, milled from a single block, measures 188 x 188 x 42.3 mm and weighs 2200 grams, with cooling grilles. A self-resetting fuse guards against overcurrent. It comes in black and silver, and ships with both cords and a spare fuse.
