The Naim New Classic NPX 300 is an external power supply for the New Classic 200 and 300 Series. It brings a dedicated transformer and DR regulators to compatible Naim components, including the NSC 222.

Dedicated external power supply

The NPX 300 takes over the power supply of a compatible Naim component, which can then concentrate on signal processing alone. Naim presents it as an upgrade for the NSC 222 streaming preamplifier. In standby, consumption stays below 0.5 W.

Transformer and DR regulators

A new-generation transformer and DR regulators fill the inside of the casing. Naim uses the same DR regulation in its power amplifiers. The manufacturer quotes a cleaner supply and a lower noise floor.

Rear panel and Burndy connectors

Compatibility and Burndy cables

The power supply works with New Classic 200 and 300 Series products, as well as with the NDX 2 and NAC-N 272 using a specific cable. Two Burndy leads are supplied, one Type 3 and one Type 4, together with the Power-Line Lite mains cable. Naim keeps the digital and analogue supplies on separate cables.

Aluminium chassis

The casing uses the thick aluminium plates found across the range, a response to magnetic fields, temperature swings and vibration. The chassis measures 43.2 × 31.75 × 9.15 cm and weighs 14.4 kg. A micro USB socket, reserved for updates, is the only service connection.
