Cambridge Audio L/R M active speakers, sold as a pair: 2 x 150 W, StreamMagic Gen 4 streaming and HDMI eARC input. They also take a turntable through their MM phono preamp.

Each speaker has its own amplifier, for 2 x 150 W across the pair. There is no amplifier or speaker cable to buy: you plug into the mains, connect the two cabinets, and the whole set fits on a television stand or a shelf. The floating bases and the discreet LED lighting underneath give the speakers the look of furniture rather than hi-fi equipment.
The 28 mm tweeter is a double-radius aluminium dome, mounted in a horn. It is paired with two 4-inch bass drivers, one on the front and one facing downwards, and with two 4.75-inch side passive radiators. These radiators extend the bass without a separate subwoofer, down to 40 Hz at ±3 dB. 64-bit DSP processing and the DynamEQ setting adjust the response to the room.
The StreamMagic Gen 4 module plays Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Amazon Music, as well as internet radio. It accepts AirPlay 2, Google Cast, UPnP and Roon Ready, over Wi-Fi 5 or an Ethernet cable. These protocols also serve multiroom: the L/R M can play in sync with other compatible devices in the home.
An HDMI eARC socket connects the television, an RCA input takes a turntable with an MM cartridge thanks to the built-in phono preamp, and a second RCA input serves as an auxiliary source. The optical input, the USB-C audio port, a USB-A for files and a subwoofer output complete the set. A Bluetooth LE remote control is supplied with the speakers.
