Hifiman Edition XV

Planar magnetic driver

The Edition XV places a large planar magnetic driver on each side of the ear. The membrane, driven across its whole surface, moves as one piece rather than in zones. The bass holds its shape and the midrange stays readable.

Open design

The open cups let the rear wave escape instead of sending it back at the membrane. Internal reflections drop, and the soundstage widens past the ears. It is the choice of home-listening headphones over isolation.

Over-ear comfort
