The Model 30 splits the preamplifier and power amplifier into two distinct sections to limit interference between stages. The power stage draws on a dedicated switch-mode supply, while the preamp stage has a linear supply. It delivers 100 W per channel into 8 ohms and 200 W into 4 ohms, with a damping factor of 500.
Marantz HDAM-SA3 and SA2 modules replace integrated circuits with dozens of discrete components selected one by one. They operate in a current-feedback topology, for harmonic distortion of 0.005% and a response from 5 Hz to 50 kHz. The signal-to-noise ratio reaches 107 dB on the high-level inputs. The Marantz Sound Master tuned the unit through its choice of components.
The phono stage accepts both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, with the Marantz Musical Premium EQ and an MC input selector. Signal-to-noise reaches 88 dB in MM and 75 dB in MC, with an MM sensitivity of 2.3 mV into 39 kohms. Six audio inputs on gold-plated RCA sockets, a Power Amp Direct input, a pre-out and a headphone output complete the connections.
The metal front panel frames a low-noise OLED display and the bass, treble and balance controls. Linear volume control, a double-layer bottom plate and copper shielding of the block complete the build. The chassis measures 443 mm wide, 431 mm deep and 130 mm high, weighs 14.8 kg and is operated with the RC002PMND remote control. Two finishes are available, Black and Silver Gold.
