The C 316BEE V2 relies on NAD's PowerDrive circuit, which continuously monitors the power stage and adapts the power supply to demand. It delivers 40 W per channel continuous, and its IHF dynamic power reaches 90 W into 8 ohms, 120 W into 4 ohms and 170 W into 2 ohms. Musical peaks come through without harshness, with a wide range of loudspeakers.
A turntable with an MM cartridge plugs straight into the phono input, with accurate RIAA equalisation and a low noise floor. The stage accepts up to 71 mV at 1 kHz, leaving plenty of headroom for high-output cartridges. Records keep their warmth and their scale.
Four RCA line inputs on the back and a front-panel input for a portable player join the phono input. The bass and treble controls act by ±8 dB at 100 Hz and ±5 dB at 10 kHz, and the Tone Defeat function takes them out of the signal path for direct listening. A front headphone output and an infrared remote control complete the package.
In a chassis 43.5 cm wide, the C 316BEE V2 combines a generous toroidal transformer, smoothing capacitors with low series resistance and discrete output transistors. This solid foundation gives it a relaxed sound and long-term reliability. Distortion stays below 0.03 % from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and standby consumption below 0.5 W.
