The C 328 is built on a customised version of Hypex's UcD output stage, paired with a switch-mode power supply. It delivers 50 W per channel continuous into 8 and 4 ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with both channels driven, and its power supply can provide more than 100 W when the music calls for it. Noise and distortion stay very low across the whole audible band, even with difficult speakers.
Two line inputs labelled Streaming and TV, an MM phono input, two optical and two coaxial inputs take both traditional and modern sources. The line inputs run through ultra-low-noise buffer amplifiers, with an impedance suited to each device. A subwoofer output, Bluetooth aptX and an RS-232 port complete the rear panel.
A high-performance DAC handles digital sources with precision, while the MM phono stage applies exact RIAA equalisation with a wide overload margin. A dedicated circuit removes the infrasonic noise found on every record, without touching the bass. The precise volume control keeps the two channels well balanced.
A separate headphone amplifier, with low output impedance and high voltage capability, drives even high-impedance studio headphones. The C 328 also offers Auto Standby, an Eco mode limited to 0.5 W in standby and an infrared remote control. Its power supply accepts any mains voltage from 100 to 240 V.
