The D 3020 V2 brings the spirit of the original NAD 3020 to a chassis 5.8 cm wide, 18.6 cm high and 21.9 cm deep. It fits next to a television, into a small hi-fi system or onto a desk. Despite its size, it gives compact systems a full, engaging sound.
HybridDigital amplification, backed by the NAD PowerDrive circuit, delivers 2 x 30 W into 8 ohms and up to 2 x 150 W of IHF dynamic power into 2 ohms. That reserve drives a wide range of compact and mid-sized speakers, and the sound stays clear and balanced as the music grows more dynamic. Rated harmonic distortion is no more than 0.005%.
aptX Bluetooth streams music wirelessly from a phone, tablet or laptop. A turntable connects to the MM phono input, which has accurate RIAA equalisation and an infrasonic filter. The optical and coaxial inputs feed a 24-bit/192 kHz DAC for the television or a player, and an RCA line input takes an analogue source.
A separate headphone amplifier drives the front-panel socket, and the supplied remote controls the unit from the sofa. Bass EQ adds 6 dB at 80 Hz and the soft clipping circuit softens peaks, filling out small speakers without straining them. The pre-amp and subwoofer outputs take a subwoofer or external amplification, and TV Connect learns the commands of the TV remote.
