Created to mark NAD's 50th anniversary, the C 3050 takes its cues from the 1970s NAD 3030 Stereophonic Amplifier: twin illuminated VU meters, push-buttons for source selection and a walnut-finished vinyl-clad cabinet. The dark grey front panel bears the original New Acoustic Dimension logo in its period cursive script. Behind the vintage styling, the electronics are fully up to date.
The HybridDigital UcD power stage delivers 100 W per channel continuously, into 8 or 4 ohms, with both channels driven. It exceeds 115 W at clipping, reaches 180 W of IHF dynamic power into 8 ohms and supplies more than 20 A of peak current, enough to handle demanding speakers. A 32-bit/384 kHz differential DAC converts the digital sources.
The C 3050 has an MDC2 slot for the BluOS-D module, sold separately. Once fitted, it adds high-resolution streaming from dozens of services, multi-room listening and Dirac Live room correction, supplied with its Limited Bandwidth licence and a measurement microphone to correct the room up to 500 Hz. The same module adds two-way aptX HD Bluetooth, for receiving and for headphones.
The HDMI eARC input connects the TV directly, alongside optical and coaxial digital inputs and an analogue line input. For vinyl, the ultra-low-noise MM phono stage applies accurate RIAA equalisation and filters out infrasonic signals. Speaker A and B outputs, a subwoofer output, the pre-out and Main In pair and the dedicated headphone amplifier round out the connections.
