The SA1 MK2 delivers 2 x 100 W into 4 ohms and 2 x 50 W into 8 ohms in Class D, from a case 25.2 cm wide. That headroom lets it drive most passive speakers. Rated distortion is 0.0045% (THD+N).
Connected to the television over HDMI ARC, the amplifier switches on with it and its volume follows the TV remote. An optical input, an analogue RCA input and an RCA pre-out complete the connections. The pre-out can be used, for example, to add a subwoofer.
Bluetooth 5.0 receives music from a phone, tablet or computer with the aptX, aptX HD and AAC codecs. The 32-bit ESS Sabre converter accepts up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, in a fully balanced signal path up to the speaker terminals. Six separate power supplies feed the analogue and digital circuits.
A turntable with an MM cartridge plugs straight into the phono input, with no external preamp. The unit powers up by itself on every input except phono and switches to the active input. It comes with a remote control, batteries and a power cable; speaker cables are sold separately.
