Versatile and finely voiced, the much-awarded MOON 340i X is offered with an optional phono stage and DAC.

The 340i X takes six line-level sources, including a pair of balanced XLR inputs and a front-panel mini-jack for a portable player. One of the inputs can bypass the gain stage, to connect a unit that has its own volume control. A 6.35 mm headphone output also sits on the front.
The first five watts are delivered in class A, the range where most domestic listening takes place. The MOON bipolar output transistors are matched with care. Bass gains in control and the reproduction in accuracy.
A high-capacity power supply, built around a custom-made toroidal transformer, feeds the whole unit. The available reserve prevents any sag in demanding passages. It is the same approach as on the brand's higher models.
The SimLink port ties together compatible MOON units. A 12-volt trigger output, an RS-232 port and an infrared link allow integration into a controlled installation. A configurable phono section, moving magnet or moving coil, can be added as an option.
