The MDX-16 routes any of its inputs to any zone. It takes eight stereo RCA sources, two coaxial inputs and two optical ones, played as PCM up to 24-bit and 192 kHz. An optical output repeats a digital input to a second MDX, and two RCA outputs pass the Analog 6 and 7 inputs through.
The sixteen channels power up to eight stereo zones, each with its own name, inputs and playback controls. Eight RCA outputs drive subwoofers, adjusted separately zone by zone. Each channel delivers 60 W into 8 ohms and 120 W into 4 ohms, up to 200 W into 8 ohms in bridged mode, under the watch of Advanced Load Monitoring.
Each zone gets its own Anthem ARC Genesis room correction. A dual-input microphone is supplied, and the measurement is run over the network or through the micro-USB port. The correction can be switched on or off zone by zone, so you can compare by ear.
The MDX-16 is controlled over IP or RS-232, with Control4, Crestron, ELAN, RTI, Savant and URC drivers. It mounts in a rack at 2U, with rack ears and feet supplied. A 3.5 mm trigger input turns it on with the rest of the installation, and setup goes through a web interface.
