Audiolab 8300XP power amplifier, front view

One hundred and forty watts

The 8300XP delivers 140 W RMS into 8 ohms and 230 W RMS into 4 ohms in stereo. Distortion measures 0.004% at 20 W, referenced to 1 kHz. Bandwidth runs from 20 Hz to 80 kHz at −3 dB.

Switchable bridged mode

A selector moves the unit into bridged operation on a single channel. Power then rises to 480 W RMS into 8 ohms. Two 8300XP units as monoblocks are the next step up from one.

Oversized power supply

The transformer and reservoir capacitors sustain current peaks. Frequency response holds within ±1 dB from 20 Hz to 30 kHz. The 16 kg chassis damps transformer vibration.

Bi-wiring and balanced input

Doubled binding posts allow bi-wiring for loudspeakers that accept it. Single-ended RCA and balanced XLR inputs sit side by side on the rear panel. The 444 mm format lines up with the rest of the 8300 series.
