The MOON 641 is the centrepiece of any audio system, combining preamplifier and power amplifier in one unit. It opens the North collection with a high-end design.

The 641 delivers 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Its damping factor of 700 ensures a firm grip on the bass drivers. Gain is 40 dB for an input sensitivity between 300 mV and 6 volts.
The two channels are built separately inside the chassis. Crosstalk falls to -109 dB and the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 109 dB. The MOON output transistors complete the North Collection's MDCA architecture.
The M-VOL3 volume control is the third generation of the electronic gain control developed by the brand. It acts on the signal without introducing a variable resistor into the audio path. Total harmonic distortion plus noise stays at 0.003 % at 125 watts.
A 4.3-inch colour graphic display shows the source, the level and the current mode. The MOONLink connection synchronises standby and commands between the MOON units in the system. Bandwidth extends from 2 Hz to 90 kHz.
