The Serenade Jr hands conversion to two HYMALAYA LE R2R DAC modules designed by Hifiman. These resistor-ladder converters accept PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512. They aim for precise, natural reproduction, even on the busiest pieces of music.
The headphone stage runs in pure Class A and delivers up to 3000 mW into 32 ohms in balanced mode. It therefore drives demanding headphones with ease. The front panel offers three headphone outputs: XLR, 4.4 mm balanced and 6.35 mm.
The built-in streamer plays music straight from a NAS, smartphone or tablet. The wired LAN connection keeps a stable high-resolution stream. On the back, USB, optical and coaxial inputs and XLR and RCA outputs complete the connections.
The OUTPUT button switches between three modes: DAC, H-AMP and P-AMP. In DAC mode the rear XLR and RCA outputs deliver a fixed level, in P-AMP mode a variable level for use as a preamp. In H-AMP mode the front headphone outputs are live.
