The LC-RE Pro brings three metals together in one cable: Furukawa monocrystalline copper, gold-plated monocrystalline copper and pure silver. All three are drawn by ultra-high-temperature continuous casting after a second smelting, a way of producing an even conductor. It is FiiO's flagship MMCX cable, and this gold-silver-copper mix is why.
The set of interchangeable plugs also includes a USB-C plug that carries a digital signal. The same cable then serves an analog headphone output, in 3.5 or 4.4 mm, as well as a USB-C source. The plug changes without tools to suit the connected device.
At the earphone end, two expanded stainless-steel MMCX connectors give a firm grip and an angle that follows the ear. At the source end, the plug unscrews and swaps out: a 3.5 mm single-ended and a 4.4 mm balanced plug are supplied, alongside a USB-C digital plug. A twist-lock design holds each one in place.
The wires are gathered into eight strands, 360 in all, of the Litz type. This layout isolates each wire and aims for low resistance along the whole length, without stiffening the cable. The braid stays supple to wear and holds its shape once coiled.
