Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC wireless gaming headset for PlayStation: 90 mm planar magnetic drivers, active noise cancellation up to 35 dB, 40 hours of battery life with ANC off and 35 hours with ANC on.
The Maxwell 2 ANC reuses Audeze's 90 mm planar magnetic driver, with an N50 neodymium Fluxor magnet array, Fazor phase management and Uniforce diaphragm, in a version designed for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Active noise cancellation reaches 35 dB and is paired with a transparency mode to keep an ear on the room without taking the headset off.
The headset features two 1.4 W amplifiers mounted in a balanced configuration, for a maximum sound pressure level above 115 dB and a comfortable dynamic margin in games as well as music. The removable microphone, equipped with Audeze's FILTER voice-filtering technology, detaches in one motion when a game no longer needs voice chat.
The included USB-C dongle streams audio at 24-bit/96 kHz, both over the wireless link and via a wired USB-C connection. Bluetooth 5.3 adds the LDAC and AAC codecs, the LE Audio standard, and Auracast for sharing the source with a second compatible headset.
The 1800 mAh battery lasts 40 hours with ANC off and 35 hours with ANC on, enough for several sessions back to back without returning to the charger. The closed circumaural headset weighs 560 g, distributed by the suspended headband and earpads to limit pressure during long gaming sessions.
