Four zones, eight channels

The MODEL M4 drives the speakers in four rooms from a single 44.2 cm wide unit designed for rack mounting. Its eight channels deliver 8 x 100 W into 8 ohms, at 0.05% distortion from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and 8 x 125 W into 4 ohms. Bridge mode pairs the channels and reaches 4 x 200 W for larger rooms.

Four HEOS modules

Each zone has its own HEOS module and therefore its own stream: one room listens to Tidal while another gets the TV sound. Zones can also be grouped to play the same music throughout the house. AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Deezer or Amazon Music are controlled from the HEOS app, and files up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD 5.6 MHz play from the network or one of the four USB-A ports.

Connections for every zone

Four stereo RCA analogue inputs and two TOSLINK optical inputs take the local sources and the TV. The four preamp outputs can be switched to subwoofer outputs, one per zone, with high-pass filters from 40 to 250 Hz and low-pass filters from 40 to 120 Hz. The 4-way binding posts accept speakers from 4 to 16 ohms.

Integration and control

A 12 V trigger output per zone switches other equipment on, and two Ethernet ports link the amplifier to the network. Crestron, Control4 and AMX systems control it over TCP/IP. The rack mounting kit is included, and active cooling keeps the unit at temperature once installed.
