The iDSD Valkyrie revolves around four Burr-Brown chips in a hybrid multi-bit configuration, inherited from the Pro iDSD mastering DAC and inspired by the Philips TDA1541A. The mixing of eight differential signal pairs targets the impact of multi-bit chips with careful low-level linearity. The analog signal path occupies its own board, isolated from the digital to minimize crosstalk.

A custom-coded FPGA applies a DSD remastering algorithm that increases resolution and reduces distortion in the spirit of mastering studios. The K2HD technology, developed with JVCKENWOOD, revives harmonics beyond 22 kHz. Six digital filters and K2 and K2HD modes expand the possibilities further.

The headphone amplifier delivers up to 5,700 mW of peak power. Four 5,000 mAh batteries totaling 20,000 mAh provide up to 18 hours of listening, free from mains interference. A SilentPower iPowerX supply is provided for mains operation. The XBass II, XPresence and XSpace analog processing tools personalize the sound.

Inputs include USB-C, coaxial and optical S/PDIF, and Bluetooth 5.4, with 4.4 mm and 3.5 mm analog inputs. Outputs are 4.4 mm balanced, two 3.5 mm and RCA. Bluetooth relies on a Qualcomm QCC518x chipset and aptX Lossless up to 1,200 kbps, supplemented by LDAC and LHDC; xMEMS compatibility is also ensured. This version stands out with its black finish.
