The iDSD GR 2 succeeds the xDSD Gryphon and introduces the Burr-Brown PCM1795 with current-output architecture. This design allows a custom-tailored analog stage and separates PCM and DSD signal paths. Decoding reaches PCM 768 kHz and DSD512 at 32-bit resolution, playing high-definition files and streaming sources without unnecessary conversion.

The headphone stage is fully balanced end-to-end, built on Class A operational amplifiers. It delivers up to 1513 mW at 32 ohms, 50% more power than the Gryphon, with output impedance below 0.4 ohm. The iEMatch MOSFET circuit adapts level to the most sensitive in-ear monitors as well as demanding over-ear headphones.

A capacitive OLED touchscreen makes key settings directly accessible without deep menu navigation. The K2HD technology, developed by JVCKENWOOD, restores harmonic content lost during digitization for more natural playback. A K2 mode applies the same treatment without upsampling for users preferring lighter processing.

Bluetooth 5.4 supports aptX Lossless for lossless CD-quality wireless, plus LDAC and LHDC. Inputs include USB-C, coaxial and optical S/PDIF, and analog in; headphone and line outputs use 4.4 mm balanced and 3.5 mm formats. A hybrid power mode favors wall power and calls on the 4900 mAh battery only when needed, while the iFi Nexis app unlocks advanced settings and firmware updates.
