Moon 280D DAC and network player in a hi-fi system

Asynchronous DAC

The 280D is a fully asynchronous digital-to-analogue converter. It decodes native DSD up to DSD256 and PCM up to 384 kHz at 32 bits, both over the USB input. The analogue circuits are balanced.

Seven digital inputs

The unit offers one AES/EBU input, two S/PDIF, two TosLink, one USB and a Qualcomm aptX Bluetooth link. An eighth input is added by the MiND 2 module, over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Practically any digital source finds its place.

MiND 2 module

The MiND 2 network playback module is built into the chassis. It makes the unit compatible with Spotify Connect and Roon, and plays the usual formats including DSD and MQA, from local files as from Tidal Master. Control goes through the MiND Controller app.

Front panel and its indicator lights

Direct Bluetooth playback

A mobile source pairs directly with the unit over Bluetooth. LED indicators on the front panel report the sampling rate and the active input. No screen to consult to know what is playing.
