Moon 681 network player and DAC in a hi-fi system

Six digital inputs

The 681 accepts six digital sources, to which an HDMI input with ARC adds television sound. The analogue output level is set to 2, 3.5 or 6.5 volts RMS according to the amplifier connected. Construction is fully balanced.

MDE-1 conversion

The conversion section rests on the MDE-1 technology developed by the brand. Total harmonic distortion plus noise stands at 0.0003 % and intermodulation distortion at 0.0002 %. Dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio both reach 125 dB.

MiND 2 module

The MiND 2 module handles network playback and access to online music services. Control runs from the MOON MiND Controller app. The MHV volume control allows a power amplifier to be driven directly.

Consumption falls to 15 watts at idle and 5 watts in low-power standby. Crosstalk measures -125 dB for a bandwidth of 2 Hz to 100 kHz. The unit is driven with the BRM-1 smart remote control.
