Entry to the Clear range

Derived from the Clear Cygnus, the Clear Sky X4 Speaker is the most affordable cable in the Clear range, with a resolution that Cardas judges superior to that of the original Sky. Its four Matched Propagation conductors, 15 AWG each, form a concentric braid around a fibrillated polypropylene core. The Grade 1 OFHC copper is assembled as Litz under SPN enamel. The insulation combines a low-noise PTFE tape with an electro-dissipative dielectric, and the Alcryn rubber outer jacket stays very flexible.

Soldered CGMS spades

To hold the price, Cardas solders the Sky X4's CGMS spades instead of forging them as on the higher-placed Clear cables. The machined aluminium collar also gives way to a printed heat-shrink sleeve.

X4 internal bi-wiring

The X4 geometry allows internal bi-wiring, with one pair of CGMS spades per binding post. According to Cardas, the Sky X4 also suits a wider range of speakers than the old Sky.

CABD dual banana

The other standard termination is the CABD dual banana plug, also soldered. Its two plugs, joined by a bridge, connect in a single movement.
