Grade 1 Litz copper

The Iridium Speaker uses Grade 1 OFHC copper, 99.9999% pure, in SPN-enamelled Litz strands, with cross-sections following the golden ratio. Two 11.5 AWG conductors, insulated in FEP, form a twisted pair with a cotton filler bound by a PTFE tape. The TPR jacket stays very flexible for a cable 10.54 mm in diameter.

CGMS spades

Cardas terminates the Iridium as standard with CGMS spades. They lock under the nuts of the binding posts, at the amplifier and at the speaker. The brand states the cable is compatible with almost all amplifier and speaker pairings, over long and short distances.

One spade per conductor

Each end of the twisted pair receives one CGMS spade per conductor. The Iridium cannot be bi-wired: on a speaker with double binding posts, Cardas advises adding its 11.5 or 9.5 AWG jumpers.

CABE banana option

The CABE banana plug replaces the spade for those who prefer a plug-in connection. As for the sound, Cardas describes a rich midrange, a firm bass and a smooth treble.
