A streamer connected over Ethernet receives, along with the data, the electrical noise produced by the router and the other devices on the network. The LAN iSilencer removes this noise before it reaches the digital signal, which lowers the noise floor and the interference. It plugs straight into the streamer, the router, a switch or an Ethernet wall socket.
Its inputs are galvanically isolated: the electrical circuits on either side are separated, which eliminates stray currents. Data passes through, but differences in ground potential and currents induced by the mains do not. This design reduces digital jitter and overall system noise.
A transient voltage suppressor (TVS) protects the connected equipment against surges and voltage transients. The shielded case, fitted with an integrated ground wire, blocks external radio-frequency interference. The lights visible on the case are not LEDs: they are optical light ports, which only light up if the connected port has indicator lights.
The LAN iSilencer takes the cable on its female RJ45 socket and plugs in with its male RJ45 plug. It runs at 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps, with no separate power supply, with routers, switches, notebooks and wireless devices. It measures 73.5 x 19 x 16 mm and weighs 17 g.
