The MSX 20 fits two 2.25-inch BMR drivers into a 79 x 155 x 97 mm cabinet. One covers the midrange, the other is dedicated to bass. A balanced mode radiator combines the piston motion of a conventional driver with flexural-wave dispersion, which spreads the sound evenly across the room. Listening position therefore matters less than with a compact speaker with a conventional cone.
The dedicated bass driver extends the response down to 120 Hz, against 150 Hz for the MSX 10 with a single BMR. The bass gains weight and impact without unbalancing the midrange. Sensitivity rises to 88 dB, two decibels more than the MSX 10. Below 120 Hz, a subwoofer is still needed.
Rubber feet steady the MSX 20 on a shelf or a piece of furniture. The wall bracket fixes it to the partition without taking up floor space. Laid horizontally, it serves as a centre channel in a home cinema setup. Die-cast aluminium reinforcements reduce distortion.
The MSX 20 measures 79 mm wide, 155 mm high and 97 mm deep and weighs 0.75 kg. Its matt finish, in black or white, and its mesh grille blend into a living room. The 8-ohm impedance and the 25 to 200 W amplifier range suit most AV amplifiers and receivers.
