The Heresy appeared in 1957 as a compact centre speaker placed between two Klipschorns. It is the easiest model to place in the Heritage series. Its slanted riser base can be removed for cabinet installation.
For the first time, the Heresy gets a rear port that extends the bass by almost 10 Hz. Its Tractrix geometry, with custom inner flares, limits air turbulence. Port noise drops and the bass becomes cleaner.
The K-702 compression driver with a polyimide diaphragm is mated to the K-704 Tractrix horn for wide coverage. The K-107-TI titanium tweeter gets a new wide-dispersion phase plug. A 12 inch K-28-E woofer completes the system.
Each Heritage pair uses veneer leaves from the same tree, laid out as a mirror image like the pages of a book. Both speakers carry consecutive serial numbers. The cabinet is built in Hope, Arkansas.
