Launched in 1985, the Forte quickly became the most popular Klipsch model. Klipsch reintroduced it in 2017 as part of the Heritage series. The IV version updates the cosmetics and brings in the brand's latest acoustic work.
The K-100-TI titanium tweeter works on a K-79T horn with a new wide-dispersion phase plug. The K-702 polyimide midrange sits on a Tractrix horn with Mumps technology. Sensitivity reaches 99 dB.
A 15 inch KD-15 passive radiator is mounted at the back of the cabinet. It is driven by the acoustic pressure of the 12 inch K-281 woofer. The bass reaches down to 38 Hz at ±3 dB.
Each Heritage pair uses veneer leaves from the same tree, laid out as a mirror image. Both speakers carry consecutive serial numbers. The Forte IV comes in walnut, cherry and black ash with a salt and pepper grille, or in distressed oak with a lambswool grille.
