The 120H is a hybrid tower: a built-in 1000 W amplifier drives its three woofers, while the tweeter and midrange stay passive and are powered by your own amplifier. Freed from the bass, your amplifier has an easier job on the midrange and treble. ARC Genesis room correction is part of the built-in amplifier's control system, so it works with any brand of electronics.
The 25 mm tweeter with an aluminium, magnesium and ceramic dome works with an OSW waveguide and a PPA lens, taking over at 2.4 kHz. The 152 mm AL-MAG cone midrange, on Shock-Mount isolation, has a 2 inch multi-layer voice coil. On the passive side, the tower accepts 15 to 400 W of amplification and offers 95 dB in-room sensitivity.
Three 215 mm woofers with one-piece CARBON-X cones take over below 300 Hz through a second-order digital and analogue crossover. Their ART surround, vertical mounting and Advanced Shock-Mount decoupling keep the bass controlled at high levels. The tower reaches down to 18 Hz to the DIN standard, in a bass-reflex enclosure.
The faceted cabinet, reinforced with Cascade-Fusion bracing, stands on Advanced Shock-Mount feet that adjust from above and come with hardware for carpet and for hard floors. The Founder Series is designed and built near Toronto, Canada. The tower is sold individually, stands 115.3 cm tall and weighs 41.7 kg.
