The Premier 720F v2 brings the scale of a floorstander to a reasonable footprint: 100.6 cm high, 31.8 cm wide and 43.2 cm deep including grille and feet. This 3-way bass-reflex design combines four drivers in a 26 kg cabinet. Frequency response runs from 55 Hz to 23 kHz at ±3 dB on axis and extends down to 27 Hz (DIN). It is sold individually, so a stereo pair needs two.
Bass is handled by two 152 mm ultra-high-excursion Carbon-X drivers whose cone is moulded in one piece. This construction aims for maximum rigidity with minimum mass, keeping bass controlled even at high volume. Gen3 Active Ridge Technology and the Vertical Mounting System keep their movement in check.
A 152 mm AL-MAG midrange with a PPA lens and a 2-inch multi-layer voice coil takes over from 500 Hz. Above 1.3 kHz, the 25 mm AL-MAC ceramic dome tweeter works behind an OSW waveguide and a PPA lens. Both crossovers are 2nd-order electro-acoustic designs for a smooth blend between the drivers.
The adjustable Outrigger Shock-Mount feet decouple the speaker from the floor to reduce vibration and resonance. Machined spikes for carpet and rubber caps for hard floors are supplied. With a room sensitivity of 92 dB, the 720F v2 works with amplifiers from 15 to 220 W that are compatible with 8 ohms. It comes in lacquered Piano Black, Black Walnut and Walnut.
