The Silver 500 8G is the largest floorstander in the Silver 8G series. Two 8-inch C-CAM RST III bass drivers cover the low end up to 640 Hz. Above them, a 3-inch C-CAM midrange handles voices and instruments up to 2.8 kHz, where the 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter takes over.
In-room response starts at 28 Hz and extends to 35 kHz, at -6 dB. The Silent Flow port is tuned to 33 Hz, lower than the 41 Hz of the Silver 300 8G.
Sensitivity reaches 90 dB for 2.83 V at one metre. Continuous power handling is 250 W and peak level 119 dB. Monitor Audio recommends 60 to 250 W into 8 ohms; minimum impedance drops to 3.6 ohms around 2 kHz.
The speaker measures 1120 x 340 x 432 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 24.3 kg. It stands on new outrigger feet with spikes, and through-bolt bracing stiffens the cabinet. Three finishes: High Gloss Black, Satin White and European Walnut.
